Guidance for foreign student entrepreneurs in the Netherlands
One of the most frequently asked questions by foreign students is what they should do when they want to start a business in the Netherlands. Clearly, work permits (you have no employer…) and visa play an important role here. With the programme ‘ambitious entrepreneurship’, there are new routes to becoming an entrepreneur in the Netherlands.
Dutch Governmental Service for Entrepreneurship (RVO)
The Dutch Governmental Service for Entrepreneurship (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland) is the government body that supports entrepreneurship. They have a special website which may guide you in the process of becoming an entrepreneur in the Netherlands. For local support, our advice is to contact the center for entrepreneurship or the incubator connected to your university. For more information, visit the RVO website.
